Rubber Keypads

A rubber keypad is manufactured from an elastomeric but durable compression-molded silicone compound; available in a variety of colors, a custom rubber keypad offers an alternative to traditional membrane switches and overlays. Seen in a variety of industries, custom rubber keypads are seen used in commercial, industrial, medical, to the most rugged military applications.

Designed for interfaces needing excellent keypad feel and long life, silicone keypads are available in either conductive or non-conductive configurations to suit any custom keypad design. The keypads may integrate with a printed circuit board or flex circuit (conductive) or with a membrane switch or other type of membrane switch (non-conductive).

Rubber keypads are offered in a wide range of color arrays, complex shapes and different finishing options. Custom rubber keypads are available with or without legends, with a solid or mix of colors and translucent for backlighting.

Designed to give a tactile response, creating this tactile feel is a manufacturing art and four major features found in silicone keypads are interactive in determining the tactile feel of the finished product: actuation force, key travel, contact force and return force.
